Steve Sharpley Short Bio / Background

Being the Best We Can Be...

Summary: Surely life doesn’t have to be this hard?...

Ever since Secondary school days in York, it seems to Steve like he’s been searching to find a life beyond what he grew up in. He feels fortunate in that it was not ‘bad’, it’s just that he had little personal confidence, other than around sports (where he captained several teams in and out of school and even represented his City and County at a couple at U16 – U19). It felt like life was tough and frustrating and he says he had no clue about what he wanted to do that would be good at and would enjoy.

However, although not recongising it at the time he had a ‘knack’ or inner guide (that he now knows we all have!) which would keep helping him ‘notice’ the next steps needed and new directions to help move beyond these early barriers.

Since growing up in a working class family in York, where he left his family and engineering training behind, he worked for almost 10 years in Silicon Valley at several worldclass international campanies.
Shortly after returning to the UK 20 years ago, he underwent extensive academic (BSc. & MSc.)and practical retraining to, he says, ‘find a way to help people be more consistently at their best, to have an easier time at work and be even more effective’.

Although now trained in many of the traditional approaches to developing people, over the last 10 years he has pioneered the introduction to business and sports people a simple approach and understanding to help people understand themselves and how to perform more consistently at there best – and with less effort and stress.

He is now Europe’s leading expert in what he calls the ‘Essentials of Peak Performance’. He has traveled extensively around the world speaking, leading workshops and has published numerous articles internationally. He has also just published his first book: “Success Is a Mind Game: How to Improve Consistency and Results in Golf and Business’.

Recently he has been recognised by a group of his peers for his powerful, professional, inspirational and skillful, speaking and working with groups to help them be more at their best and more resilient.
